The Intelligence Layer

What the production layer runs on

The production layer described in How We Work is powered by a set of AI-assisted tools: language models for drafting and summarisation, retrieval systems for statute and precedent lookup, and rule-based checks for procedural compliance. None of them file anything. None of them speak to a client or a court. Every output is a draft, and every draft is reviewed by an advocate before it moves further.

Statute & Precedent Retrieval

Looks up statute text and reported judgments from structured sources, so a draft starts from the current legal position, not a model's memory of it.

Drafting Assistance

Produces a first draft of pleadings, notices, and opinions against the scope an advocate has set. It never sends or files anything itself.

Citation Verification

Checks every statute reference and cited judgment in a draft against a live source before the draft is considered final.

Procedural Compliance Checks

Flags limitation issues, forum mismatches, and missing procedural steps for an advocate to resolve, rather than resolving them unsupervised.

Governance

Human verification gates, every time

Nothing produced by the Intelligence Layer reaches a client or a court without passing through a human verification gate.

  1. Every draft carries an audit trail

    What was drafted, what was retrieved, and what was checked against source is logged against the matter record, not just the final draft.

  2. No unsupervised filing

    Only an enrolled advocate can mark a matter ready to file or send. The production layer never files, sends, or communicates directly with a client or a court.

  3. Citations are verified against live source

    Every statute section and cited judgment referenced in a draft is checked against a live source before the draft is considered final, not assumed correct because a system produced it.

  4. The advocate signs, always

    The relationship model described in How We Work applies without exception here: the advocate who owns the matter reviews and signs every work product this layer touches.
